The Organisation, which started since 1977 with an investment of Rs.10,000/- (Loan with 18% Interest) and started with one employee, today as CLUBB International Private Limited is leading the way in the East and has created job for more than hundred people directly or indirectly.
The Clubb International Pvt. Ltd., has launched “CLUBB” Brand in 1990 and presently it has range of products includes Soft Luggage, Rain wear, Small Leather Goods, Corduroy and Eco-Friendly Jute Diversified Products and also export its wide range of Jute Diversified Products, Small Leather Goods and Hand Embroidery Silk items in retail to countries like Australia, UK, USA, Canada, Japan, Mexico and Israel etc.
The strategy of the Organisation is to concentrate on quality to satisfy its customers and keep its prices as much lower than the other branded players and create a retail-driven demand in Domestic and Internationally.
My greatest achievement is probably that I have helped to create some 200 small entrepreneurs so far.

Even as child, Tarun Mullick was more into technical games rather than those involving physical strength. Perhaps that’s the reason why the founder managing director of Clubb International had quit swimming and opted for table tennis. Within a year he became the Bengal champion. and got National Rank .The importance of playing games, he says, is that it teaches one to loose, accepts failures and faults and work on them so that they are not repeated in future.
Life was never a bed of roses for him as he lost his father at the age of seven. There were days when he had skipped breakfast and walked all the way back homes from Gariahat to Armenian Street after table tennis practices. Although his success in the game did bring a few job offers, he obviously set his sights higher.
Mullick took loan and invested Rs.10, 000 and bought in installment a PVC high frequency welding machine to start of his own little adventure. Getting orders initially was difficult but the first major break happened with the ‘Power’ brand of Bata. Mullick started manufacturing sports bags for Power, North Star, Adidas, Lotto Donay and Duck Back among others. Finally in the year 1991, he decided to launch a brand of his own by the name of Clubb. Today he can boost of a successful dealer/Retail network connecting the entire nation and exported his product to several countries.
Mullick is happily reconciled with the fact that he was cheated by many people in life and that, he says, is the reason why he is what he is today. The competition was so great that he had to keep performing all the time or perish. He respects time and tries not to waste a single second. Mullick believes in providing supreme quality products to keep the customers at Clubb satisfied. A few days back he went to the extreme of delivering an order at 2:30 am in the morning in his own car, as there was no one else to do it. He says that he doesn’t run after money but believes in getting his due for providing quality and satisfaction to the customers.
Mullick has conducted several entrepreneurship development programmed till date for the National Centre for Jute Diversification and National Jute Board., Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. The program has led to several successful ventures. To become successful, he feels. “You have to do the right thing at the right time before competition creeps in. You have to think differently and be ahead of your competitors.” He doesn’t believes in taking loans more and more from banks and other financial institutions but feels reinvesting the profit of the business is a much better option. That it helps repay the loan and sustain the business better.
“Talented people invent, average people watch, while below-average people only criticize,” says Mullick, an aphorism he believes in. He feels that today’s generation should not become stagnant and they should move ahead, building a solid backbone with every step. He believes in being grateful to people who helped him in anyway.

MR. ARUP MULLICK (DIRECTOR) :-
Son of Mr. & Mrs. Mullick. Graduated as a Bachelor in Commerce with Finance and did his Masters in Commerce with Marketing both from St. Xavier’s College. Kolkata. Currently is a Ph. D. Scholar in Calcutta University commerce Department with the elected research topic of Micro & Small Entrepreneurship opportunity in the Industry. Also currently functioning as the programme coordinator of St. Xavier’s College career oriented diploma Programmes held in the evening as well as being part of the Entre Pact convening committee in VGSOM, IIT, Kharagpur. As a Eminent Tennis Player and winner of several accolades from different level like five times University Blue, Eastern Zone Champion ,State Represented and hold of national rank , and. Now he is working as a Chief Operating Officer in the company.
